When David Crosby, Stephen Stills and Graham Nash returned to the Lied Center for Performing Arts stage after an intermission Wednesday night, they left three-fifths of their full-blown rock band backstage. Drums and bass provided time and little else for the three on “Helplessly Hoping.”
